I don't understand
I don't understand why kids don't listen to their parents. For eighteen years I've been living in a bubble, thinking that most good kids, most people that I know aren't that bad. I knew there were bad kids out there that were smart but still drank and did drugs but I didn't know there were kids that were normal that didn't drink and smoke and were smart that disobeyed their parents. I've always felt frustrated and angry with my parents, everyone has. But in the end, whether I REALLY REALLY didn't wanna do something they told me to, I still did it; no matter how much I didn't want to. Because they're my parents and they know what's best for me. But I didn't know there were normal kids like me out there that DILIBERATELY DISOBEYED AND LIED to their parents faces. We first generation American kids think that we're so much smarter than our parents and that we know what we're doing and they don't but we're not and that's why no matter how much I don't want to, I still obey my parents. I may not do it right away, I'm not perfect you know, but I still do it eventually. But WOW! there's kids out there that just don't care. And there are also kids that don't realize what they're doing is wrong but it's like would you do that if your parents were sitting here? Ummm I don't think so! I don't understand how kids can still live and not care that they're disobeying their parents, the people that gave birth to you, that went through sleepless nights for you when you teething as an infant or ill as a toddler, the people that taught you to walk by holding your little fingers and picking you up everytime you fell. HOW? How can kids, little kids, like teenagers, just deceive their parents like that? Don't they care about their parents feelings? At all? How do their parents feel that their children don't listen to them at all? If I was a parent, I would not be able to take it. That my own flesh and blood can just blow me off like that. What about those kids whose parents think that they are so0o0o good and great kids and everything? I pity them cuz they're living in this bubble, thinking they're kids listen to them and they don't know what these kids do behind their backs. It just breaks my heart to see this arrogant and idiotic kids blow off their parents like they're stupid or something. I just don't understand......

The Prophet Muhammed (SAW) disliked only 3 types of people and one of them are those that don't take care of their parents in old age.
The SECOND COMMANDMENT is to "[show] kindness towards both [your] parents."
Be kind to thy father, for when thou wert young/Who loved thee so fondly as he/He caught the first accents that fell from thy tongue/And joined in thy innocent glee.
No matter what you've done for yourself or for humanity, if you can't look back on having given love and attention to your own family, what have you really accomplished?
